I'm responsible for the Tropical Glasshouse at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. It is one of our Nursery Collections and is open to the public every day of the year. It has an older style feel to the display: everything is in pots, with benches along the sides.
I've been at the RBG Melbourne for nearly 5 years (it'll be 5 in May '08 ), and have looked after the Tropical House for that time. As part of my role I've been able to spend time at the Eden Project (Cornwall) and RBG Kew (London) as well as spend some time hunting Nepenthes in Borneo (not collecting though).
I've developed this forum (with much assistance - thanks Siobhan!) as a way of networking with others around the world who have a similar role to me - namely, those growing tropical plants for public display, including those in Botanic Gardens and similar organisations, as well as connect with experts in the many different areas of tropicals plants.
Looking forward to connecting with peers all around the globe!
